NOVA NIGHTS #5 at The Horse Hospital

COMING SOON: NOVA NIGHTS EP#5: NICHOLAS VINCE’S CENOBITE CHAT & OTHER TALES OF TERROR — WED 16 AUG 2017 — 19:30 — Tickets on sale now.

Billy Chainsaw and The Horse Hospital have announced their latest nocturnal emission, NOVA NIGHTS: PROGRESSIVE, TRANSGRESSIVE & UNDERGROUND – EPISODE #5 – NICHOLAS VINCE’S CENOBITE CHAT AND OTHER TALES OF TERROR (now, there’s a mouthful!). Tickets are on sale now for the bargain price of £5 (£7 on the door).

If you haven’t ventured onto the cobbled floors of The Horse Hospital before, the independent arts venue sits in Bloomsbury and boasts a subterranean gallery space with the subtle air of the abattoir.

The NOVA NIGHTS series is conceived and hosted by Billy Chainsaw, an artist and expert in the darker side of (un)popular culture. Episode #4 profiled Graham Humphreys, well known for his classic UK quads for EVIL DEAD and A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET as well as numerous Arrow Videos and next month’s FRIGHT FEST. Interviewed by Chainsaw – no, not literally – Humphreys was splendidly erudite about his art and upbringing before sharing a film from his personal vault, NIGHT TRAIN TO TERROR. If you haven’t seen it, you (really) should.

Episode #5 looks set to share the same format, this time with actor, director and author Nicholas Vince. In all fairness, you probably won’t recognise Vince from his two most famous film roles – the Chattering Cenobite in HELLRAISER (1987) / HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II (1988), and Kinski in NIGHTBREED (1990) – but he has since shed the latex pounds, venturing both behind the camera and into the world of comic books.

In addition to his interview, we’ll get to see Vince’s directorial debut, short film THE NIGHT WHISPERED (2016), as well as his personal choice of feature, HELLBENT (2004): “the first gay stalk and slash movie”. We look forward to letting Billy Chainsaw lead us down into the dark one more time.
