Valentine’s Screening: LOVE IS STRANGE
February 16 @ 15:00 - 17:00
Valentine’s Film Screening – LOVE IS STRANGE at The Geffrye Museum of the Home (16 FEB 15:00):
John Lithgow (THE CROWN, TERMS OF ENDEARMENT) and Alfred Molina (AN EDUCATION, CHOCOLAT) shine in Ira Sachs’ (LITTLE MEN, KEEP THE LIGHTS ON) tender and deeply-moving meditation on long-term relationships.
After 40 years together, Ben and George can finally marry, but they are heartbreakingly wrenched apart when George loses his job. As the couple turn to friends and family for support, Sachs and co-writer Mauricio Zacharias’ screenplay imbues the film with the humanity and subtle humour ingrained in the fullness of life.
LOVE IS STRANGE is a richly poignant film about commitment, love, ageing and loss – offering a reminder of the importance of genuine human connections at a time when they may seem fragile and fleeting.
