The wonderful people behind the Chinese Visual Festival are back promoting their side-hustle, Focus Hong Kong, with a special online edition for Easter (31 MAR to 06 APR).

Focus Hong Kong gives you a chance to explore the “best in new and classic films from Hong Kong” from the comfort of a single streaming platform (which minimises the potential for log-in confusion!).
The programme includes 6 feature films and a whole bunch of shorts. Features cost £2.99 to rent and the shorts are FREE. Or, you can buy a festival pass for the bargain price of £8.99 (which is what we’ll be doing!). The films are available online for the duration of the event and you get 30hrs to stream each title after you first click play.
3 films we particularly like the look of are Lik Ho’s I STILL REMEMBER – partly on the strengths of its stunning poster design (2021 – main featured image & below), Jun Li’s TRACEY (2018) which is a partnership with the awesome Queer East, and Johnnie To’s THROW DOWN (2004), a martial arts flick “filled with brutal, no-holds-barred Judo fight scenes” which is presented here from a 4K restoration. But everything looks delicious.
