We had such a blast with their HORROR season – celebrating Fasching with Dominik Hartl’s carnivalesque ATTACK OF THE LEDERHOSEN ZOMBIES was a schnapps-enabled delight – that we thought we’d keep a close eye on progress through film’s genres at Austrian Cultural Forum London.

The new focus for Spring is HISTORICAL PERIOD DRAMAS, starting with what is still considered “the largest and most expensive production ever undertaken in Austria, involving between 3,000 and 14,000 performers, extras and crew”, Michael Curtiz’s SODOM & GOMORRAH: THE LEGEND OF SIN & PUNISHMENT, 1922 (02 APR 19:00). Elsewhere you can find more recent film festival favourites and two films with a strong F-rating (still a rarity in London’s repertory seasons…).

This is just the sort of season we enjoy, helping to extend our knowledge of world cinema without breaking the bank (and let’s face it, serial cinema-going in London can be an expensive affair). The swanky postcode, tidy screening room and good company round out the delights.

HISTORICAL PERIOD DRAMAS screens at Austrian Cultural Forum (02 APR to 30 MAY – FREE!).
