#QueerHorrorNights continue with a double bill of PSYCHO II & PSYCHO III at The Cinema Museum (Sunday 24 JULY 18:30): booking now!

Hi everyone!

I’m taking a short holiday so am cutting down on the number of posts whilst keeping the flagship sailing with these weekly Screen Guides (i.e. no daily updates or IG posts). I’ll still be working on my various screening projects, so I won’t be going quiet exactly, but it’s time to take a short break from being quite so lost in the bowels of WordPress…

That means that subscribers to THE BALLY will also get the full weekly screen guide instead of a summary for the cinema weeks commencing 15 July and 22 July. Normal business to resume after that!

Hope you have a great time at the cinema, and thank you for all your support for the various projects I’m creating at RADIANT CIRCUS and TOKEN HOMO.

See you in the darkness, and stay safe.

THE INCREDIBLY STRANGE CREATURES WHO STOPPED LIVING AND BECAME MIXED-UP ZOMBIES?! d. Ray Dennis Steckler, 1963 + Live experimental music introduction by The Howling, UK restoration premiere at BFI Southbank (20 JUL 18:15).

“Set around a series of murders connected to a creepy sideshow fortune teller, THE INCREDIBLY STRANGE CREATURES is an unusual, unpredictable ride that far exceeds its cheap and delightfully trashy origins. Shot by the legendary Vilmos Zsigmond (CLOSE ENCOUNTERS, THE LONG GOODBYE), Ray Dennis Steckler’s masterpiece exists on the very edges of experimental film culture – channelling collage, vivid colour, dream imagery, masks, musical numbers and exotic dance as a way of telling its story of monster mayhem and hypnotic possession.”

“The Howling (Ken Hollings and Robin the Fog) combine analogue tape-loop manipulation with spoken word to provide a fitting introduction to this special screening.” (BFI)
