We’ve often thought that adventuring across London to see DIY community cinema – served with insightful special features by passionate experts – is one of the best film educations you can get. Building on previous editions, Lexi Film School has announced their new Spring Term dates, giving locals and visitors alike a world class film education in one regular spot.

The new term features “lost gems, under-rated masterpieces and world cinema classics” and the always friendly venue says that “all are welcome!” (which means you won’t get cinematic sand kicked in your face if you don’t know your Bergmans from your Bigelows).

The programme (copied below) includes a good variety of films, including a relatively rare outing for Bollywood cinema on London’s indie screens (if we ignore dedicated Bollyhouses like Boleyn and Safari). You’ll also get a chance to cram before each film with special pre-screening Film Notes written by the guest speakers. And thanks to a collaboration with MUBI, your ticket gets you three free months of their curated streaming service, allowing your cinematic odyssey to turn new corners.

Speaking of tickets, there’s nothing we like more than a multi-buy bargain. You can book for individual films or sign up for the whole term to get the best price. Tickets are £9 (£7 to Lexi members), or see all 7 screenings for £42 (that’s a bargain £6 per film + talk).

LEXI FILM SCHOOL takes place on Mondays at The Lexi (29 APR to 24 JUN).
