NOW BOOKING: LIFT OFF! season at Screen25

Pushing the frontiers of community cinema, Screen25 has announced a new season of lunar-themed events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing [Updated 25 JUN].

Our friends at Screen25 are preparing for LIFT OFF! ?, a new season of lunar-themed cinema events commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing.

Five events have been announced, starting the countdown with Duncan Jones’ superb head scratcher, MOON (10 JUL). Then, on the eve of the first moonwalk itself (20 JUL 1969), Damien Chazelle’s FIRST MAN (19 JUN) will be introduced by Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, Peter Bull MBE.

After that comes Claire Denis’ acclaimed first English language feature HIGH LIFE (31 JUL) aka the film that scored RADIANT CIRCUS a short-lived global Twitter following thanks to the gathering masses of Robert Pattinson fans…. HIDDEN FIGURES (21 AUG), with its star-studded cast, powerful performances and infectious toe-tapping soundtrack by Pharrell Williams, is “a celebration of achievement, where only the sky’s the limit”.

The season ends with a families-only screening of the film that caused successive generations to dream of the stars, STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE (31 AUG). Join space expert Jerry Stone before the film starts for 3-2-1 Blast Off, a rocket building – and hopefully launching! – workshop.
