Cinema going in London can range from the eye-wateringly expensive to the soft embrace of a free screen, where our only concerns are about travel. Indeed, our ongoing film journeys depend almost entirely upon this mixed economy and so it goes without saying that we love a free screen.

Affordable cinema we’ve spotted this week includes:

ARMS WIDE OPEN d. Sirus Grahan, 2019 + PARTY for the European premiere at House Of Vans (25 MAY 20:30 – FREE!).

DOCUMENTS: HUILLET-STRAUB AT WORK at Goethe-Institut (25 MAY 10:00, part of THE FILMS OF JEAN-MARIE STRAUB AND DANIÈLE HUILLET – FREE!).

MOONLIGHT d. Barry Jenkins, 2016 presented by Deeper Into Movies at Peckham Levels (27 MAY 19:00 – FREE!).

RAFIKI d. Wanuri Kahiu, 2018 presented by Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest + East End Film Festival at Victoria Park, part of All Points East (27 MAY 19:30 – FREE!).

This week’s Korean offerings c/o the Korean Film Festival at the Korean Cultural Centre and Deptford Cinema are currently looking SOLD OUT!
