[UPDATED 19 MAR]: We are collating information from venues & other indie exhibitors about how audiences can support #LDNindieFILM through this time of crisis. We will post everything we find here & share widely via Twitter @radiantcircus. Follow us there for news & updates. Get in touch if you have anything to add or update!
By RADIANT CIRCUS
RADIANT CIRCUS launched just over two years ago with a mission to promote and preserve alternative screen culture in London. We have been blogging about our discoveries ever since, listing more venues, festivals and events each and every week. Our intention has been to help audiences find great things to do in the dark by showcasing the work of London’s many passionate film clubs, lone wolf promoters and venue staff who project their passions on the wall for our shared entertainment.
London’s alternative cinemas need support from audience members who can afford to do so at this time of crisis. Other voices are turning their attention to lobbying for government backing for small businesses, the hospitality and creative industries, and it is vitally important that they continue to do so. But RADIANT CIRCUS started as a result of audience activism and that is how we will continue, recognising that indie film exhibition is built on a simple unit of currency, the price of a ticket.
Independent exhibitors across London are reaching out to their loyal audiences to buy gift vouchers, annual memberships or donate to their fundraising efforts. We will use this page to compile links and updates as the crisis unfolds. Get in touch if you have more or updated information about your venue/film club etc.
Regular visitors to RADIANT CIRCUS will be familiar with long, scrolling lists of wonderful things to do in the dark. Now is the time to take direct action: do what you can to support #LDNindieFILM so that we can all gather again in darkness when this crisis is over.
Please share this page as widely as you can.
[& take care 🖤]
