We’ve made a zine and it’s all about the thing we love, alternative screen culture.
This first volume is all about how indie/DIY film exhibitors swerved the cinema shutdown by creating emergency screen culture during the long months when venues remained closed.
The zine is published as part of our #ReviveTheDark campaign to promote alternative/DIY screen culture after the pandemic. All proceeds from the sale will be used to help indie exhibitors get back out there.
In this volume:
- Jade Evans writes about Carol Morley’s #FridayFilmClub
- Michelle Facey writes about Kennington Bioscope’s silent cinema channel KBTV
- Daniel & Clara write about their Moving Image Salon for artists & experimental filmmakers
- Julia Brow of eco film club No Planet B writes about finding new content collabs
- Catriona Mahmoud writes about taking Screen25 community cinema online with Stream25
- Sarah Kathryn Cleaver writes about building Zodiac Film Club’s Instagram community
