“Nominated for the 1991 BAFTA for Best Film Not in the English Language, Louis Malle’s MILOU EN MAI recounts the family reunion following on the death of the de Vieuzac matriarch at the height of the May 1968 demonstrations. Milou (Michel Piccoli) a man in his sixties who has lived his whole life with his mother on the family’s estate, enjoying every aspect of rural life, sees his plans for a funeral ruined by his family’s bickering over the division of the estate and the social upheavals going on in Paris.” (Ciné Lumière)
