RADIANT CIRCUS will be launching a new zine that aims to preserve what might otherwise be lost at our first showcase & network event, WunderKammer Live (17 SEP). First 40 people to join us at the Filly Brook will get a free launch copy of WunderKammer Vol1, CRISIS?

WunderKammer is our new multi-platform project at RADIANT CIRCUS that comes directly from our mission, to promote and preserve alternative screen culture in London.

WunderKammer will look beyond the production of moving pictures to expose their ‘afterlife’, peering behind the curtain to reveal more about the people, projects and places that show, share and celebrate film.

Through a connected series of live events, content commissions and printed zines, our aim is to inspire further creative appreciation of film content. We also want to provide valuable networking opportunities for London’s promoters and producers of alternative screen culture.

We’ve already announced our first live event which will take place at the Filly Brook on 17 SEP as part of Leytonstone Loves Film. We will also be launching the first volume of our new zine that aims to preserve what might otherwise be lost.

WunderKammer Zine Vol1 will contain new commissions from some of London’s most exciting DIY film exhibitors, writing about the emergency cinema and screen culture they co-created during shutdown.

Under the title CRISIS?, the insider accounts will reflect on the steps that were taken, the films that were shown, and the communities that were built. In their different ways, the authors will each reflect on the extent to which the venue shutdown was both a crisis and a revival, reaching new audiences with new energy against a backdrop of devastation and loss.

We’ll be announcing the contributors to Vol1 soon. We’ll also open up booking for WunderKammer Live.
