NEW SEASON: DEREK JARMAN at The Prince Charles (23 JAN to 16 APR 2019)

New season DEREK JARMAN SELECTROSPECTIVE at The Prince Charles Cinema (23 JAN to 16 APR 2019) projects five films by the artist we lovingly refer to as our moving image godhead at RADIANT CIRCUS.

It was Jarman’s films that first expanded our horizons beyond those of mainstream cinema, baptised us deeply into a new world of adventurous moving pictures and projected an unashamedly – and oftentimes angry – queer / positive attitude.

The five films here are all outstanding ways into his creative, collaborative* genius and provide a welcome reunion with his features after the night of music videos that lit up the 16th London Short Film Festival (DEREK JARMAN: THE MUSIC VIDEOS, 16 JAN 20:40 at BFI Southbank).

*Amongst many important collaborations throughout his career, SEBASTIANE was co-directed with Paul Humfress.
