HUSTLER WHITE d. Bruce LaBruce, 1996 + Virtual Q&A with the director, presented by Fringe!, DMovies & Doesn’t Exist at Rich Mix (07 APR 20:15):
One of LaBruce’s most celebrated films, HUSTLER WHITE is a fictionalised study of male hustlers working in Los Angeles, based on real events that happened to sex workers. Entirely shot on 16mm, this provocative film is both a satirical black comedy and a tribute to classic Hollywood, in particular Billy Wilder’s SUNSET BOULEVARD (1950).
This screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director Bruce LaBruce (via video conferencing), hosted by DMovies‘ Victor Fraga in partnership with Fringe! and Doesn’t Exist.

AN EVENING WITH BRUCE LABRUCE presented by DMovies & Doesn’t Exist at Rich Mix (18 APR 18:45):
Transgressive Canadian filmmaker Bruce LaBruce showcases one of his latest and most acclaimed film creations, SAINT-NARCISSE.
Set in Quebec in the early 1970s, the film explores the romantic connection between two identical twins separated at birth and reunited at adulthood. They fall in love and begin a twincestuous relationship that is beautiful and shocking in equal measure.
After the film, the director will showcase images from his latest project, a photoshoot for Doesn’t Exist magazine that recreates Pasolini’s 1968 classic THEOREM. LaBruce will then be joined in conversation by very special guests for a Q&A, hosted by Victor Fraga.
Audiences will be able to purchase Doesn’t Exist‘s tribute to Bruce LaBruce featuring his 21st century vision of THEOREM. The director will also be available for book signing and photo ops with the audience.
Please note: this is an 18+ event.
