NOW BOOKING: Electric Cinema Reopening Programme (from 17 MAY 2021).

Boutique exhibitor Electric Cinema has announced their reopening programme & will take your booking at both White City & Portobello from 07 MAY. Here’s what’s on…

We’ll be honest, RADIANT CIRCUS hasn’t been to an Electric Cinema (well, we have, but that one’s in Birmingham and we don’t think it’s a family relation…) but we’re in the mood to celebrate all indie venues reopening programmes, so here we go. And we’ll get there soon… promise!

The main reopening show runner at their Portobello venue is, of course, NOMADLAND d. Chloé Zhao, 2020 (screening daily until 27 MAY). You can also see the special event screening of Pedro Almodovar’s short film HUMAN VOICE (2020) which gets a pre-recorded Q&A with the director and star Tilda Swinton (19 MAY 21:00), and JUDAS & THE BLACK MESSIAH d. Shaka King, 2021 (23 MAY 11:00).

Their White City venue has a more densely populated programme but is only booking for the traditional screen week at the time of posting (until Thursday 20 May): JUDAS & THE BLACK MESSIAH d. Shaka King, 2021 (17 MAY 21:00 / 18 MAY 17:30 / 19 MAY 21:15 / 20 MAY 18:00); MINARI d. Lee Isaac Chung, 2020 (17 MAY 19:30 / 19 MAY 19:00); and, SOUND OF METAL d. Darius Marder, 2019 (17 MAY 17:30 / 18 MAY 21:00 / 19 MAY 18:00 / 20 MAY 21:15).
