Damo’s Christmas gigs at Dublin’s legendary Vicar Street are something of an annual pilgramage for his fans, some of whom – Nadia, Packy and Jonathan – become the subjects of this insightful documentary, shot across a number of those gigs in December 2019 as well as in the homes and neighbourhoods of both the fans and Damo himself. The result is a film which explores tough subjects like addiction, grief and loss…but through a lens of love and empathy, with astounding effect.
