Continuing an incredible journey through the Rio Cinema archive, Club des Femmes and Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest present Lesbian Camp: Yes It’s F**cking Political (05 to 06 JUN), a three-part programme that’s “as camp as a circle of lesbian tents”.
Club des Femmes already has considerable previous “queering the decade of excess” through their Culture Club, channelling the “political aesthetics of 1980s inclusive queer feminism”. This now results in a programme of Trans Shorts (05 JUN 14:00), a 1990s cult classic, BUT I’M A CHEERLEADER (Director’s Cut) (05 JUN 16:15), and an 80s great, PUMPING IRON II: THE WOMEN (06 JUN 16:15).
You can either buy tickets for individual events (£8) or a weekend pass (£20) for all three.
Lesbian Camp: Yes It’s F**cking Political screens at The Rio Cinema (05 to 06 JUN) and is booking now.
Just Livin’: Yes It’s F**king Political trans shorts with filmmakers in attendance (05 JUN 14:00).
BUT I’M A CHEERLEADER (Director’s Cut) d. Jamie Babbit, 1999 + Skype Q&A with the director & Clara Bradbury-Rance (05 JUN 16:15).
PUMPING IRON II: THE WOMEN d. George Butler, 1985 + Intro Sam McBean in partnership with Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest (06 JUN 16:15).
