Malarkey Film Festival presents a portrait of London’s underground film scene through short films of any matter, style and shape at Phoenix Cinema (23 JUN 19:00).

Gap the Mind aims to create a portrait of London’s underground film scene by collecting and curating short films of any matter, style and shape — from experimental cinema to fiction and essay films — assembled into a cinematic monster to be unleashed at the oldest cinema in London, the Phoenix in East Finchley.

Doors open at 7pm, giving enough time for people to linger, drink and chat until the screening begins at 8pm. The films will have played by 10pm with a short break in between for refreshments. From 10-10:30pm there will be a Q & A session with all the filmmakers on stage. At 10:30pm the bar will still be open for a final linger.

We are also showing installation films, so there will be a screen installed outside the main screening room where people can watch those films at their arrival, during break time and at the end of the event.

Finally, it is a free event with suggested donations!
