Whether you’ve never seen A CLOCKWORK ORANGE or saw it on a tiny TV screen 30 years ago it’s time to see it properly on the big screen!
As well as a late night screening, we’ve got a special rate at the Dalston Locke and the incredible Martin Green and Yury Revich will be providing the music.
Based on the 1962 Anthony Burgess book of the same name, A CLOCKWORK ORANGE reflects a world of Ultraviolence, the film has lost none of its potency and its disturbing and unpleasant scenes are still shocking. There are moments of humour and the film’s incredible visual style is much copied by artists, photographers and filmmakers.
Roger Egbert said, A CLOCKWORK ORANGE is “an ideological mess, a paranoid right-wing fantasy masquerading as an Orwellian warning. It pretends to oppose the police state and forced mind control, but all it really does is celebrate the nastiness of its hero, Alex.”
This is a film that can be divisive but ultimately one that you’ll be glad you’ve seen on the big screen. Our presentation ties together film, art, music and subculture, and a dynamic array of guests to make for a great evening.
