We love it when a new community festival comes together, particularly when they’re tracking the trend for celebrating the intimate relationship between music and film. Here’s what’s screening at Rhythm & Views Film Festival (15 to 29 JUN).

Croydon’s new Rhythm & Views Film Festival includes a tribute to the late Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin with screenings of AMAZING GRACE and the timeless action comedy, THE BLUES BROTHERS. There’s also a screening of Olivia Lichtenstein’s Teddy Pendergrass documentary, IF YOU DON’T KNOW ME, and two programmes of short films from around the world. The festival wraps with a special 30th Anniversary Screening of Spike Lee’s DO THE RIGHT THING.

Screenings will take place at Boxpark Croydon, The David Lean Cinema, and the BRIT School, along with several other community venues.
