The film follows the story of Fenix, a young man who grows up in a circus family and becomes a skilled performer himself before his life takes a tragic turn and he becomes confined to a mental institution. Fenix then embarks on a surreal and haunting journey to seek revenge. With its stunning visuals, mind-bending imagery, and a haunting soundtrack, SANTA SANGRE is a truly cinematic experience unlike any other that has become a forgotten classic of avant-garde cinema and Jodorowsky’s filmography.
This screening is presented by the cult film collective, Video Bazaar, who are proud to present this rarely seen gem from legendary director Alejandro Jodorowsky. This screening is one of several in Video Bazaar’s series of upcoming screenings at The Garden Cinema featuring films rarely seen from well-known directors.
