TOKEN HOMO hosts BAR TRASH at Genesis Cinema & Rule Zero. Tickets £1 – Booking now!

Hi everyone!

It’s my time of the year to sign off from listing and wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

This screen guide should be enough to see you through until the dawn of 2023. I’ll be back with a new roundup of January’s seasons and film festivals before you know it.

Of course, not everyone celebrates Christmas, and not everyone will have somewhere warm to be on Christmas Day. For those reasons and more, maybe JW3’s offering of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE on Sunday 25 December can be the company you need.

Thank you for all of your support this year, through the ups and downs in my own blogging life, as well as in the pursuit of great cinema. I’ll see you in the darkness again soon. Stay safe,

Richard // RADIANT CIRCUS

P.S. – If you want to celebrate 2022 with me, join me for my three final BAR TRASH nights of 2022, where we celebrate lurid B movies from yesteryear with a drink or two… PROPHECY at Genesis (20 DEC); CHRISTMAS EVIL at Rule Zero (21 DEC); and, GRIZZLY also at Rule Zero (28 DEC). Tickets just £1. See you there…? x

THE SILENT PARTNER d. Daryl Duke, 1978 presented by Cinema Rising at The Garden Cinema (19 DEC 20:30).

“Miles Cullen, an eccentric bank teller played by Elliott Gould, notices something strange about a man dressed as Santa in the building where he works. Correctly predicting he is planning a robbery, Miles devises a scheme to keep part of the loot for himself. Things quickly get out of hand when the perp (a genuinely frightening Christopher Plummer) realises who has the cash.”

This screening is presented by Cinema Rising, a London-based film project that includes a double-feature podcast, an online journal, and a programme of in-person events. Find out more at cinemarising.com
