#QueerHorrorNights continues with Stewart Thorndike’s LYLE starring Gaby Hoffman at Genesis Cinema (14 SEP 18:30).

VIDEODROME 35mm d. David Cronenberg, 1983 at ICA (10 SEP 15:30 / 11 SEP 12:20 / 13 SEP 21:30).

“Celebrating the release of his new film Crimes of the Future, David Cronenberg’s fearsomely provocative feature receives a very rare outing on a 35mm print.”

“Max Renn (James Woods) – sleazy, cynical, quietly ruthless – runs a low-rent, downmarket cable TV channel in Toronto. Searching for content to broadcast, he stumbles on a Malaysian satellite signal that shows uncut footage of unnamed victims apparently being tortured to death. At first appalled and then addicted, he soon embarks on a hallucinatory journey into a shadowy world of right-wing conspiracies, sadomasochistic sex games and bodily transformation. Featuring an eye-catching turn from Debbie Harry in one of her first film roles, this landmark 1983 release retains much of its relevance – and all of its power to shock.” (ICA)

#QueerHorrorNights presents a very special event at the historic Rio Cinema – our Halloween Monsters Ball: NIGHTBREED (28 OCT 22:00+).
