LAWRENCE OF ARABIA 60th Anniversary d. David Lean, 1962 at The David Lean (10 DEC 12:30 + Intermission).

“David Lean’s film, winner of 7 Academy Awards, is still the high water mark for historical film epics. An intelligent script, dazzling photography (especially of Omar Sharif appearing out of the desert heat haze), Maurice Jarre’s superb score and Peter O’Toole’s mesmeric portrayal of the charismatic English officer whose knowledge of the Arab tribes enabled him to organise them against the Turkish invaders make this a film that has to be seen on the big screen. Presented in the original two parts with an intermission.” (The David Lean)
