Ok, so this ferocious heat won’t last forever, meaning the usual summer fun of sitting outdoors to watch movies on the big screen can resume.
The brilliant people at Sunset Screening Sessions are back with another season of something different outdoors. Rather than the usual rooftop mashup of 80s genre classics (mixed with a smattering of contemporary releases), Sunset Screening Sessions dedicate their programme to films that “paint a colourful and culturally vibrant picture of Britain”. The lineup this year includes comedy, horror, romance, LGBTQ+, Black, arthouse cinema and much more, dating from 1928 all the way to the present.
The project is a collaboration between between Infinita Productions and DMovies, who have exhibiting films across the British capital since 2017. Their objective is to provide Londoners “with a truly British and diverse open air cinema”. All events take place at the Homestead Cafe of Beckenham Place Park in South East London. And you can bring your dog… Here’s what’s on this year:
