Science fiction has never been scared to ask difficult questions or to explore the potential consequences of what’s already happening. FRAMEBURN takes place once a month to screen science fiction films that speculate upon future climate changes and dystopias, including an evening of short films.
Each screening will be accompanied by an event, including a workshop with a local youth group, a sci-fi themed board game meet-up and and edible insect tasting. The evening of short films will include a panel discussion about climate justice.
The Social Cinema is a Community Interest Company based in Walthamstow. They ran an open air cinema in Higham Hill Park in summer 2020 and 2021, and were part of Leytonstone Loves Film in 2021.
